I am getting hundreds of results for web services when I browse but I am not sure how to proceed.

The next step would be to install the SOAP engine Axis as a web app in Tomcat, and to make sure you get the "happy-axis" page with no errors (the installation instructions will tell you how to do this; it's easy). Then, to get started building your own service, read this article. Then read a few more articles on various topics which are referenced in the JavaRanch Web Services FAQ, and you're well on your way. Come back here if you have questions.

Hi there

You need to go through this http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2EE/j2ee_ws/

before getting started with webservices. The procedure described there seems complicated but you can have a feel of a webservice.

Cheers,
JD

Hello "javadheer"-

Welcome to JavaRanch.

On your way in you may have missed that JavaRanch has a policy on display names, and yours does not comply with it - please adjust it accordingly, which you can do right here. Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Enyoy your time here.
