My application is basically for office communication.
The client is a java application which is a system tray application. The server is a php website. The server ie the admin sends messages to users who have the java aaplication loaded on their pc. The messages should be appearing instantly.

1. How to use java with phpsoap?

2 We are using Nusoap. So how the wsdl generated by php will be consumed by java ?

I want just to send simple text messages.

Before you even head down that road consider the fact that the Web service client only gets a response from the Web Service Server immediately after the client sends a request. A Web Service has no means of contacting the client independently from a clients request.
  • Are going to make the "java application" a Web service host with an embedded Web server? That way the PHP Server could become a Web service client when it sends the message. Message delivery could be instantaneous. However that solution would be overkill.
  • Are going to have the "java application" poll the Web Service on the PHP Server regularly? Message "delivery" (really retrieval) would not be instantaneous and there would be an awful lot of requests over the network that would result in a no message response.
  • Are you going to employ an alternate (non-web service) method of message delivery?

  • Web services may not be the solution for your requirements.
