The Web Services FAQ has links to lots of introductory articles about various aspects of WS, links to standards like SOAP and WSDL, as well as how to get up and runnign with Axis. The Axis user guide is of course also very helpful.

PS: Please remove the email adress from your post - we prefer to keep discussions here in the forums.

I started with http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2EE/j2ee_ws/
and learnt about webservices using JAXRPC

In the above link you find step by step instructions about how to create and use WebService using Sun Application Server.

When you finish doing this, try to do an example of your own.

After you finish doing with Sun Application Server, you can go for Axis, which is used to create a webservice with a webserver like Tomcat.

Cheers,
Tauri.
