Hi Folks,

I have a exisiting standalone java project with me. Now I have to ivoke a method from a class of this project. I am using Tomcat 4.1 as a application server and Axis as a web service option. The main problem with this is, I cannt put that class file into anywhere in tomcat or anywhere in Axis folder, as the class file is tightly intigrated with other class file and importing so many packages or that project.

So my question is would it be possible that we can ivoke a method from a class file which is residing anywhere in your computer, not in tomcat or axis dir.

Hope i m clear to mentioned the my issue clearly if any thing else need to be clearify please let me know. Thanks in advance.

you can create an object from any class that is in your classpath.
so you need that class to be in your classpath before you could use it.
you can do one the following :
create a jar file from all packages that this class is depend on them and put that jar somewhere in your classpath or in tomcat common lib or in your web application lib folder.

also it could be in your system classpath (so , not in tomcat/* folders)

Hello "Java Developer"-

Welcome to JavaRanch.

On your way in you may have missed that JavaRanch has a policy on display names, and yours does not comply with it (the name must not be obviously fictitious). Please adjust it accordingly, which you can do right here. Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Enjoy your time here.
