In response to your topic title:
See the topic Good Book For Web Services ? for some ideas.

Also a search for "book" on either this (Web Services) or the Web Services Certification (SCDJWS) forum may yield some interesting results.

What you are asking for in your message body has little to do with Web Services.
Do a "book" search on forums like
Servlets
JSP
HTML and JavaScript
XML and related technologies
Struts
Application Frameworks
etc.

For the barebones quick startup on web applications take a look at
Head First Servlets and JSP: Passing the Sun Certified Web Component Developer Exam (SCWCD)
amazon.com

It will give you the basics pretty quickly. Also:
Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML Head First HTML & CSS
amazon.com

For reference consider:
Core Servlets and Java Server Pages, Vol. 1 2e
Prentice Hall
