The Web Services FAQ has lots of information and links to articles and introductions. For a jump start, read a few of the articles listed under "How do I get started building a web service with Axis?"

For software, Tomcat 5 and Axis 1.4 are sufficient in the beginning. I'd stay away from Axis 2 at the moment, as it doesn't yet have many of the features of Axis 1.

Howdy "venkat reddy k",

Welcome to the JavaRanch...

You may not have noticed that we have a policy on screen names here at the ranch. It must consist of a first name, a space, and a valid last name.

Unfortunately, your screen name does not seem to conform with this policy. Please take a moment to change it.

Thanks,
Scott
