Hi all,
I am currently calling a 3rd party web service and I need to ping the service frequently to see whether it is up or not. I don't know how to implement it, pls. give me some ideas, if anyone has done something similar or is there any open source I can use to do it?

TIA
Rob

If you have WSDL definition for the web service, you can use wsdl2java of AXIS to generated client stubs and you can call the service using it.

Writing web service using AXIS. Good tutorial I referred is THIS.
