Hello Forum...

I'm new to web services and the world of xml in general so apologies for my dumb questions.
I need to send a java-based (servlet or pojo) SOAP request to a .NET web service that requires digest authentication.
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to combine authenticating with Digest, and sending a simple soap request?
Also I'd like to avoid using a framework that hides everything under the hood, at this stage (so maybe I can learn something about the technology).

Many thanks
/j-p.

One of the most simplest Java SOAP clients can be found here. The username and password for the authentication need to be filled in in the setOptionalHeaders method; you can remove the section about "SOAP headers" below that.
