I want to learn about web services
from where should I start
Could you please show an internet link that describes web services from the beginning

i would first install apache axis:
http://ws.apache.org/axis/

...referencing the axis user guide (pay particularly close attention to setting the classpath):
http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-guide.html

then work though this stuff:
http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2002/06/05/axis.html

Tom! That was practical can you elaborate how does it differ from a web-application?
