Hi!
I am actually preparing for XML Cert and my request to the moderator would be to segregate all the posts pertaining to exam scores and general trivia / social niceties (including this one) to a different section. While I share the happiness of all those who made it through to the exam (u have inspired me), I am preparing with time as a crunch. This way when I sieve through the problems others have had and I can help and be helped faster.
Thanks,
Vidya

Hi vidya,
Evn though the idea sounds very good , I am not sure if it is possible to do the seggregation
That would mean dividing the XML certification Group into 2 or 3 more subgroups and I am sure someone would come up with another seggregation very soon !!!
The only thing which sorts of helps us in finding related topics (like xsl, sax, dom) is the search facility that allows you to serach within the particular discussion group !!!.
I have had some difficulties using the same !! for example..I knew that someone had posted an online reference to XML professional 2 edition, but was not able to find it using the search facility !!!
I had to go through the postings manually !!! (hey..I am not an expert in search techniques !!! Just saying that a segregation would have made it easier )
But it would be really nice to have a seggregation which would allow you to look for related topics quickly
madhav, any futuristic plans of doing something like this ?
and Vidya, Good luck with your exam
Thanks
hari

WOW! Just registered a week back and already complaining!!!
Vidya,
Welcome to the Javaranch. Thanks for your suggestions.
Generally we try to keep the forums segregated, as you suggested.
But then this forum is very low traffic and so I let them slide.
Some of the other forums like SCJP and SCWCD are more aggresively
segregated. Anyways, I will try to do this on a more regular basis.
Not a problem and thanks for your suggestion.
Good luck with your preperation and keep posting.
I am not sure if it is possible to do the seggregation
In general our policy is that any topic related to Javaranch
forums and Javaranch policies be discussed in the Javaranch
forum. That way, a lot more javaranch staff get notified and
have better suggestions and work-arounds for user issues.

This would be a perfect topic for the Javaranch forum, if you choose.
Since Vidya had indicated that this thread also be segregated, I will
close this discussion here and transfer the thread to Javaranch forum.
Lets continue the discussion in that forum.
Thanks for the suggestions.

As a active user of the forums, I feel there are too many forums on the site.
I wish there are less than that are there now.
But, that is my opinion.
Kishore.
