Hi,

I have client class calling a web service. Now, it may happen with the wev service it may take long to send back the response. But I have a time restriction that if the response doesn't come within given time period I have to stop the client call.

The time requirement is done. But how to stop the client after the call is made?

Please help!!! Its urgent.

Depends on the toolkit that you use.

Setting "time out " time signifies the max time webservice can take to respond.
but to stop a webservice in a scenario where user wants , ie say if a webservice is taking a long time respond user wants to stop that , how is that possible

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
