I think I read that Spotlets are related to the KJava GUI classes. If that's the case, I wonder if when the profile for Palm PDA is complete, we'll (those of us programming for Palm OS) be still extending Spotlets.

Yes, a spotlet refers to an application built with the unsupported com.sun.kjava classes. It's kind of analoguous to an applet. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be in the PDA Profile.

AFAIK it is.
Disclaimer: I'm on the JSR 75 (PDAP) expert group, but this is not an official answer.

Weird. I would've expected the expert group to rename it to something more meaningful.

Arg, that was a poorly worded reply on my part. What I meant to say was that Spotlets are not supported (I was trying to word my statement to confirm yours).
I believe on MIDP spotlets have been replaced by MIDlets. Although Eric would know better than I. (Got any suggestions for what the PDAP things should be called. I personally like pdaplets, pronounced with the first p silent, so it sounds like "dap'-lets")

Mark , can you elaborate upon what you have said ? I am curious about what is the actual meaning of spotlets ? how they will be supported by PDAP ?
Since , you are on JSR ( PDAP ) expert group, your valuable inputs are highly appriciated.
SHAILESH.
