Visual Age Micro to Palm

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
We are desparately trying to figure out the piles (steaming) of semi-worthless documentation provided by IBM and PALMOS on how to get a simple application transferred an running on the Palm (emulator or otherwise).
We get close, then take two steps backward.

Anybody else tried this foolhardy activity and succeeded? How?

I'm moving this to the J2ME forum

Which version of the KVM are you using?
My experience is almost a year old, and I was using the Sun package without an IDE, but all I had to do was load the KVM, Standard class library, and my application into the emulator and boom - there is was.
Working with the emulator is certainly to be preferred!

Thanks. We've progressed past this latest hurdle. We've downloaded all of the recommended KVM materials and are attempting to use Forte (as recommended by Sun). We are having difficulty importing the basic libraries, a first step when using VAME from IBM. They have to be integrated somehow, any help?

Visual Age Micro Edition and Java 2 Micro Edition currently have nothing to do with each other. VAME is NOT a J2ME implementation, they've defined their own VM and their own subset of the Java runtime. They've promised to include J2ME compatibility, but until that point you can't really mix and match the two.

We've settled on JBuilder 4.0 from Borland. All of the integration is handled by the tool (no more DOS windows). We accomplished tests that took 3 days with the other tools (with no real success) in a matter of an hour or so.
Thanks for everyone's help.
