On another thread you posted the following :
"The Mobile Information Device Profile requires that HTTP be supported. The idea is that you can place your application in a jar file and build an application descriptor (.jad) file and place both on a web server. The user would type in the URL of the .jad file into the application management software on the phone and the latter would then download and install the jar file.
Would i be correct in assuming from the above statement that the JAM will be a "browser-like" piece of software that will have to be launched to download a MIDlet wirelessly. So if a person were running a WAP browser it would not be posible to download a Java app. by clicking on a hyperlink. ie. it would not be possible to send a message back to the MID to fire up the JAM and to download an application dynamically while the person was running their wap browser. Do you think that this download model (similar to ordinary web browsers) will ever exist for wireless devices.
