Hello all...
It has been awhile since I have visited the ranch.
I have been developing two systems at the same time...
On with ORACLE/PROC*C/C and the other DB2/COBOl/PERL...
Just get my 1st PDA, a handspring, I'm hooked...
Both of my assignments will end in Sept.
Need to prepare for my next assignment.
Option 1 Questions:
1. General J2ME info..?
2. Database's that run on J2ME..?
3. Will CloudScape run on J2ME..?
Option 2 Questions:
1. General J2SE info for MVS and/or DB2..?
2. General J2EE info for MVS and/or DB2..?
Basic backroud:
Software Dev for 15+ yrs
Database Dev for 10+ yrs
Java Dev for 2+ yrs
Java Certifed 08/2000
Databases: DB2 Oracle Cloudscape
Languages: Assembler C Java Perl
PDA development sounds cool but can I make living at it in 3 mo.?
Pls Help...

This is a really old thread. But yes, there are some choices of mobile databases for both CDC and CLDC based devices. I wrote an article about it a while ago:

A more complete discussion with detailed source code analysis can be found in my book.
