I have an existing JSP which returns some html, which is a list of student names in alphabetical order.
Now if i access that jsp with J2ME, how can j2me will display all those names ?
In what format, do i have to send response back to J2ME phone ?
Any help ??

It's hard to say, because J2ME covers so much. If you are talking about running MIDP, then you must use a MIDP supported protocol. Currently, MIDP only supports HTTP. However vendors can add their own OEM protocols; HTTP is the only one you are promised, so to keep it portable, go with that.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
