J2ME for Windows CE programming ?

Hello ,
i have never worked with J2ME bfore , tho i have done work on J2EE , now i am required to do a project which is to be deployed on Plam's , mostly running on Win CE . Can anybody out there tell me plz , if going with J2ME is a good idea ? and , in tht case how to get started , my development PC is running on Win 98 , then for where i shld look for simulators , J2ME tools n API , specific for some native calls if there , and any documentation which help me get take decision n get started .

WinCE currently supports pJava. (which has much more of the java platform than MIDP for CLDC). Basically this means that you would have the whole of java jdk1.1. That obviously means that you would be able to do much more than if you used J2ME (or more specifically the MIDP)
Although you could probably get the MIDP installed if you tried you would be quite limited to applet like applications which dont allow you a great deal of power.
