In the real physical world when the wireless phone been used, is the phone like a computer connect to the network when it is switch on?? will the phone have it own so called "IP address" to identify the phone.? if not, how to identify the phone??

Hello Zniter,
I am very interested in J2ME and still new to the technology. I don't think wireless phone have the capabilities to assign an IP address. Because of this, you can only send outgoing requests right now. This is a limitation on the device. Think about some kind of mapping using the pone number for now?

Packet networks as GPRS, assigns an IP address to each device attached to the network.
Till now and according to my experiences, this IP address is dynamic and belongs to a private network.
The same as a client inside a LAN.
