how to play midi in j2me?

I want to play the midi embed in one java mobile phone.how i can do this? Do i need some special music package ? Thanks alot.

Exactly. You need a special music package. There isn't one included in the MIDP release (which, is what all US phone support). PersonalProfile may have support for it, I don't recall, but I've only seen that on Japanese phones.
Such behavior will likely be vendor specific for the next year or two.

The upcoming MIDP 2.0 (MIDP_NG) is going to include a standard sound API.

Hi ;
Have you checked Nokia APIs?Available at forum.nokia.com
You can play wav and ott(OTA formatted) files by using SoundListener..
You can include your wav file to your jar file and play it as a inputstream.
I have tested it and working just fine.
