Has anyone read this book http://www.softpro.com/0-672-32342-7.html
I'm taking a J2ME/Wireless grad course this summer and we have to come up with a project. One thing I was thinking of is a casino type game. Is that book any good? I've already read the John's CoreJ2ME book but I'm looking for something more specific on games programming for J2ME. Any suggestions?
thanks
lance

Hi Lance,
"Sam's Teach Yourself Wireless Java with J2ME" by Michael Morrison has a few sections on graphics/gaming. Although it is not a book specifically written for gaming, it may give you some additional information along the lines you are looking for.

p.s. Hope the Core J2ME book was helpful.

Hey John,
Yeah it was the only J2ME book the prof had for loan out (the rest of his books were on WAP which is also part of the course). It was a good overview and the examples were pretty good.
I think I might bite the bullet and pickup the J2ME Games programming book, well after reading a bit of it at the store. I actually made some pretty good progress today with drawing out casino GUI stuff. The graphics stuff is pretty simple, what I'm hoping is that the book will go over game design issues as well..
Anyways ttyl,
lance
