Good evening all. I had a question regarding acessing an intranet via a J2ME app. As an example, when I work from home, I use a piece of software on my laptop that allows me to access the company intranet.
So the question that I have for y'all is, is it feasible at this time to create a J2ME midlet to handle the task of VPNing onto the network and pulling data? If so, are there any tips or references that I could be pointed too? Any help or guidance is certainly appreciated!

Yes it's possible. I implamented one at my last company. Simply follow the standard proceedure for creating a VPN. Just be careful with the implamentation on the device side.

Most excellent. If you don't mind, could you direct me to the "standard procedure for creating a VPN". What info should I extract from the IT guys at my company in regards to what type of VPN we run? Thanks for the help!

I haven't clue what the standard proceedure is, or even if there is one. Basically, look up how your company's VPN currently works, and then build the client to behave the same way.

Thank-you very much for your help Mark. If you don't mind me asking, what questions should I be asking? For instance, what type of authentication and encryption questions would you pose? If PTPP is the weapon of choice, where would I need to go with that? I apologize if I am asking way too many questions, but you appear to be quite experienced in this field. So I thought I would get your insights, if you do not mind. Thanks!
