For each palm device, there is a unique device id(like 60H.......0091 on the back of the device). Is there a way to get this device id in a J2ME Midlet?

We spent a little time looking for it, but were unable to access it. This was a year ago; maybe there are better tools these days.

Hi,
MIDP 1.0 does not support this feature. You may need to go through PersonalJava.

I'm afraid that it depends on the phone that you are developing for.
On a siemens phone you can get the IMEI by calling
System.getProperty("com.siemens.IMEI")
but other manufacturers (e.g. Nokia) don't support getting any info about the device.
