error while use of preverify

it's a example in j2me nutshell by kim topley
while using preverify it show a error
-> error preverifying class ora.ch2.helloworld
-> class loading error : illegal pool index

Did you use a JDK 1.4 compiler? If so, use an older version javac. Or refer to this tread.
