OKay first have you any exp with JUnit or cactus in any way?
OKay first to testunit functionality you will be using Junit and the extension to JUnit for J2ME..see junit.lorg for details
ON top of that to test the operational functionality you will have to use Cactus through JUnit to do that type of testing once again see junit.org for deatils..
If you don;t want to delve into JUnit and Cactus as of yet..
You would deploy your server side stuff to Sun's J2EE ri 1.4.1beta adn st your ant build script to build your midp verify it, and run it through the emulator and use it in emualtion to see if it can connect to the J2ee server in the way you design it to do that..
One thing to make usre of if running cactus tests your ide has to be on a different vm than the refernece J2ee sever..
