Hi guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm studying an MSc Software Technology, and the main language we learn is Java.
For my final project/dissertation, I've chosen J2ME. I already have a program in mind (assigned to me as well), but obviously I've had to start with the usual Hello World (which has worked).
The book I'm using is Learning Wireless Java (from the O'Reilly collection, by Qusay H. Mahmoud). The reason to choose this book was becuase I couldn't find many more in my Uni's library.
I've also downloaded the Java Wireless Toolkit and that's what I'm using at the moment.
Well, that's it, now I'm going to carry on fightin with this small Sample MIDlet that keeps on giving me errors (I'm trying to display a list of options for the user to choose: Visa, MasterCard, Amex).
Cheers

Welcome to the J2ME world! I'm quite new here myself as you may have seen from my other posts. Please feel free to post any questions about problems you encounter along the way. Even if I can't answer them myself, someone else may be able to. It will also give the rest of us a reference for when we encounter similar problems of our own.
p.s. Welcome to Java Ranch as well!

Thanks Layne,
so far I've written the simplest programs, but at least they're working.
What program did you write first?
