Does anyone know, or know of a website that can tell which currently available cell phones are MIDP 2.0 enabled?
I like the Nokia 3650 phone, but it is only 1.0 enabled.
Thanks
Mark

Nokia announced its first MIDP v2 phone: the 6600 during javaOne. But right now, I think it is only available in Europe and Asia. America is definitely the third world when it comes it to mobile phones!
I have played with a "real" MIDP v2 device for quite sometime now. What I did was to install the Jeode MIDP v2 runtime on my PocketPC phone from T-Mobile. I can do OTA MIDlet installation using its built-in IE.

Michael,
Is that JVM free? I haven't been able to find any free JVMs for the PPC... Unless I'm not looking properly!

The IBM J9 for PPC is free for evaluation (no time limit). It is bundled in the WebSphere Studio Device developer IDE.

After a tough time trying to find the WebSphere Studio Device developer IDE, I think I've managed to locate the trial version...
Unfortunately, I won't be able to download it until I get home, but I'm looking forward to it. Do you know off-hand, if the J9 is bundled in the evaluation version of the WebSphere IDE?
Thanks for the help... I really appreciate it. It'll be much nicer actually running the apps on my device as opposed to testing them out on the emulator!

Yes. And the evaluation version does not expire.

Thanks, Michael.
I downloaded the evaluation copy of WebSphere last night... I'll have a play with it tonight. Looking forward to running some MIDlets on my ipaq!
