Hi,
All the talk about J2ME seems to concern PDA and cell phone applications. Since I am not familiar with this whole wireless technology, I am wondering about the applicability of J2ME to other kinds of embedded products. I have only seem one so far and that involved a tiny high-end copier/printer device in which J2ME did not seem to have an advantage over just using J2SE.
Does your book, or can you describe other kinds of products that would benefit from J2ME (and why)?
Thanks much!

Yes, J2ME is very promising in smart home, smart office appliance and in cars. A lot research has been done, in particular, on the OSGi platform (chapter 4 of my book). This is a huge market yet to take off. Microsoft is entering the car market this year as well.

Everything that can possess the property of mobility should be able to use J2ME... Of course, car itself is automobile...
It seems like .Net CF is really aggressive in the market now...
