Hi,
I use the getSnapshot() method of VideoControl class to get the image from the camera in my midlet. Now the only phones i have , to work with that do provide me access to the camera (JSR 135) are the series 60 phones.
the default image size that i get is 160*120 .. this is not good enough for my purpose .. i can actually get a larger image by specifying a larger size but the quality suffers again ( not that it is very good in the first place)...
Question:
1) I believe this restriction of the size 160 * 120 is limited only to series 60 phones .. is it ?? .. is this the default size that i will get for all the phones that support JSR135 ??? or will the default size vary according to the manufacturer....

any ideas, comments or suggestions are appreciated...

Thnx in advance.

I believe the default capture size is vendor dependent. I found that the Nokia 6600 MMAPI captures much better images than the Nokia 3650 implementation.

Hi
thats good news for me .. the quality given out by 3650 and even Siemens SX 1 is very poor .. i believe this is because they are both MIDP 1.0 phones supporting JSR135 and also both are series 60 phones.
As for 6600 .. can u tell me the size of the image it returns ( default and max)... i will try to get my hands on one ...
thanks for the reply
