After deploying a serial-device application successfully to the motorola i730, it was decided we should port the same to the samsung e-715 on t-mobile. I was under the impression that the GCF was a basic part of midp, but when I try to use the app it returns an error stating:
java.lang.SecurityException: Application not authorized to access the restricted API.
The jad file contains the (I think) correct permissions (at least, works on the i730). I have heard about folks having networking issues with t-mobile, but all I'm trying to do is make a simple CommConnection. Do I need to have a special app loader (like motorola's web jal) or sign the midlet suite? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
