Has anyone else experienced any issues using "\n" or '\n' in J2ME. I've noticed that the T616 does not recognize "\n" when appending to a menu as follows:

My understanding is that there are no newline characters in midp. Or atleast, manufacturers are not required to implement a newline character. Its one of my personal pet peeves in UI design, but atleast it forces you to be consistent.

Can anyone verify that MIDP doesn't suppport newline characters as mentioned above?

Without the support of newline characters, is it possible to control what text appears on what line in a List. I am would like to have a list of items, each of which contain certain number of components. These components need to each appear on a separate line or they would obviously run off of the screen. At the same time, these components must be part of one list selection when scrolling down the list.

Currently I am doing the following:

If anyone has any suggestions on how to accomplish this without using newline characters, please let me know.

Thanks!
