This week's book giveaway is in the Android forum. We're giving away four copies of Android Programming: The Big Nerd Ranch Guide and have Bill Phillips & Chris Stewart on-line! See this thread for details.
I have found Kim Topley's J2ME in a Nutshell (O'Reilly) very useful.
(I haven't read Jonathan Knudsen's book yet, but I imagine it would be very good too, judging by his other writings.)

John Muchow's Core J2ME book is also a good choice if you don't mind buying a MIDP 1.0 book.
