I recently browsed through a yahoo groups whose interest is developing applications using java and bluetooth. I've encountered this term: bluetooth stack or is it java bluetooth stack? Also, i've come across names like Rococo, Can anyone explain this in layman's term? I'm obviously at a loss in the tons of information I have to read regarding j2me and bluetooth prgoramming. Thanks

Bluetooth is basically radio technology. Your application is Java technology and it uses an API called JSR-82 to make the Bluetooth radio to send something. A Bluetooth stack is what connects the API to the radio device.

There's a couple of open source projects developing Bluetooth stacks for Java. If you're interested in seeing some source code, javabluetooth.org should be a good place to start...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
