J2ME application error with Motorala V400 but works well with Motorala V300  RSS feed

I have a small J2ME application which is supposed to be lauched by an SMS+PORT message. We tested the application with V300 which is registered to Canada Rogers AT&T. It works very well. When we tried to test the application with V400 which is registered with US Cingular(GSM), 'application error' always occurrs at the beginning of the program.

I modified it by commented out lines of code bit by bit to debug. I deleted all codes with SMS connection, so it ran successfully. When i add back the following code:

if (smsconn == null) {
try {
smsconn = (MessageConnection);
} catch (IOException ioe) {
the program returned "application error" again.

The problem is that the program can be launched by SMS+PORT message, but failed to setup SMS connection in the program. What I am not clear is that the carrier first sends sms to launch the program which is listening to the port, then send sms message content or just send them out at the same time.

Could you help me out the issue?

please buy my thing and then I'll have more money:
