Is there a way to avoid the automatic alert "Send item to 012345678..." after a MessageConnection.send(String) command? In other words, how can a cellphone send a message without human confirmation with J2ME?
Low level OS programming (Symbian, etc..) is the only way?

Thx in advance.

You need to sign your MIDlet with the device manufacturer's or wireless operator's digital certificate in order to do that. That means you have to partner with them. I do not think Symbian would allow untrusted programs to send SMS without user knowledge either. It is a basic security feature that cannot be suppressed.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
