RecordStore getSizeAvailable()

Can someone confirm that the RecordStore getSizeAvailable() method returns a value in "bytes"? The books and online articles I've seen say that this method returns bytes, however, our
testing
is showing that it is actually returning KB.
Thanks,

The return should be bytes, you can find it from the midp api.
