out of memory exception when downloading image

i get an out of memory exception when downloading an image from the server.
why is this so?

My first guess is that your device doesn't have enough memory to hold the image.

You might want to give more details of the problem, e.g. the image size, whether you are using an emulator or a device (and which device you are using), maybe the code you are using to download the file etc.

Hi Tomas,

i am testing it on the wireless toolkit emulator.
the image sizes beyond 50 KB don't work.

Have a look at the Preferences in the toolkit. Check under 'Storage' to see if limits have been set.

no Tomas, no limits have been set!
but i got the problem and i have handled the error!
my resize function (whenever the image width*height used to return a value greater than that of an integer) it used to give an error!
this is because most of the functions in the Image class take int for an argument and the value was exceeding limits in my case.
