Hi everyone,

As we all know, MIDP is only required to support the PNG format. I need to write an application that will display JPGs that the user will take with an optional camera add on for the Palm and Pocket PC using the J9 VM.

I have been searching for a way to convert JPGs to PNG format on the fly in the J2ME environment but I have yet to find anything. Of course there are plenty of J2SE APIs out there, but nothing that seems useful. JIMI looks interesting, but since I am not at work right now, I cannot try it out. I am sure it will not compile anyways. LOL

I was wondering if anyone else has tried to solve this problem? I know it is possible but I am having a hard time finding something to help me out.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Thanks a million,
Phil

Hi

I have the exact same problem - I wan't to transfer compressed .jpg files from a server & then convert them on the j2me device to a PNG byte array to use with createImage

Did you come across a solution?
