Hello folks,

I'm working in a research about .NET Compact Framework - Be calm, guys. It's all about discover what J2ME has better than Microsoft Mobility Technology - . At May 13th 2005 I will participate of a Crossroad and, in this conversation thing about defending J2ME in front of .NET Compact Framework, I have to do my best and show to everyone what Sun has done for us, developers, and the wireless community releasing J2ME in the market.

For now, I'm consulting some sites, researching... I would like to know, what you have to say about .NET Compact Framework? In which aspects they are better, whether they really are?

Thanks,
Wilder C. Rodrigues

OK, I like both but there are differences.

J2ME
1. Security, it is within a sandbox, and code cannot be written to mess up the phone.
2. It is available on more cell phones than any other technology. There are only a few Windows Mobile devices, and they are not that big of sellers.
3. APIs are designed specifically for small devices and what most applications will need to do, and makes the coding easy.

.Net Compact Framework
1. Doesn't require VB or C# programmers from learning anything new, same code is available and you code exactly the same way as you would a Windows Application. (Therefore, it takes a lot less time to write the same application in .Net CF than in J2ME)
2. Allows you to get at more programs, like data storage in an Access MDB.
3. I think it works better on more powerful devices like Pocket PC.

Just my 2 cents.
