I renewed my wireless plan yesterday and in doing so picked up a new Motorola V551 which is Sun Java and Bluetooth enabled. My question is will the J2me Wireless Toolkit 2.2 be enough to get me started learning or should I find a motorola specific development kit and use that instead?

Thanks.

Hi Gregg,

Yes, it should be enough. Preferably with a decent IDE (E.g. Eclipse
with the J2ME plugin).

However, if your only developing for a specific mobile phone, you might
as well find the it's SDK and emulator. That way, you won't
(read: shouldn't, in theory) get any problems when you try to run it on your mobile.

Motorola Software Development Kit

Thanks for the information. I won't really be developing specifically for the Motorola because I'd rather my apps run on any compatible mobile device. But I'll bookmark Motorola SDK in case I need it.

Thanks again.
