If I'm building a Canvas, I can call methods to see what key was pressed, e g FIRE. Is there a similar way in a Form. I want to show a Canvas when the user push the "joystick" to the left or right?

Nope, doesn't look like it. Since FOrm is a High level API, you have just ItemStateListener and CommandListeners.
