Hello,

I am currently developing a web application for PDA and PC. I am wondering
how to recogize if a HTTP request is from PDA or from PC, so that the web
app can present web pages of different formats to the terminal. Would
any one could help on this?

Thanks a lot!
Roger

Well a solution is to include a parameter sent to the Servlet.

But I believe there is some browser software for the phone that converts the html page to something that looks better on the phone.

Opera is one www.opera.com. There is even one with using a proxy, that does this nice conversion. Check that out.

There are also third party portals like Yahoo! mobile, MSN Mobile and AOL MyMobile

URLs

mobile.yahoo.com
mobile.msn.com and mymobile.aol.com

By the way, I got all that information from our own bartender's book. Nokia Smartphone Hacks by Michael Yuan. Go Get it.
