I have a jar-jad combo which I want to run inside Eclipse IDE as a MIDlet and see how it looks in different emulators. I have various SDKs also plugged into Eclipse.

How do I go about creating a new project from jad-jar and creating a "Run" configuration? The new configuration wizard asks for a MIDlet name to run, and I only have a jar file, not the individual MIDlet.

Please help... thank you.

JAR files are nothing more than ZIP files. If you have a program like PKZip or WinZip, you can decompress your JAR file and extract the individual classes. From those, you may be able to determine the MIDlet name. There should also be a manifest file in there which is basically a copy of the JAD file. Look in the manifest and you should be able to re-create the JAD.

The Uploader tool at SprintDevelopers will do all this for you. Upload a JAR and it will automagically extract the manifest and create a JAD for you.
