Hi all,

I have written an application to access the recordstore of the mobile.
everytime it access the recordstore, it asks forconfirmation and then I have to click OK.

I thought this happens only with the emulator but later when I installed the application on the device, again it asks for confirmation to access the recordstore.

does anyone know how i can get rid of these confirmations?

kind regards

In your Jad file you can include permissions that the app will need. But the key to getting it to actually work this way on the device is by paying for an Signing Key to Sign your jar file.

A Couple of threads down is the same question with a link to verisign.

Hi,
thanx for replying, i checked the Verisign site

and i am really confused over which particular certificate will fit
to our need...since i have just written an application for extended contact book which access only recordstore.

can you suggest me over some verisign certificates..and is there no free way to get around this(anyways its my boos who pays for it, but a free solution would be impressive).

regards

No free services are available. If you can control install, meaning you ahve the device and youa re doing your install, you can always click "Always Allow" when you get that message, then the device will not ask again.

Or you allow the user to choose this option.

Otherwise, you have to pay to be able to actually sign your jar that will work on a device.

Hi mark,

thanx for replying again,

I have installed it on Nokia 9500, but it doesnt give me an option to set "dont ask or save my reply".

I am afraid I am only left with this verisign option. am I?
