I need to create a rich application in MIDP, and hence need to use bitmap fonts. I've looked at j2mepolish, but can't use it in our project. Anyone who has done this before, could you share some insight into this? Any help/pointers or optimization techniques that you can suggest?

I already have a PNG image with a character set that I wish to use in my app. Any code tidbits you could pass on?

Thank you in advance...

So why can't you use J2ME Polish in your project. It allows you to use your own fonts.

I'd say re-review your requirements and ask why it has to be a particular way that you can't use J2ME Polish.

I think only J2ME Polish is out there making it possible to go beyond the limitations of MIDP UI. You can always draw using Canvas, but that would be lots of code.

Good Luck
