Hi
I want to do some audio programming on a mobile device with j2me, and so I bought the dedicated music phone w800.
In one MIDlet, I want to capture the environmental sound.
Unfortunately, although the mobile media api is supported, the calls to
System.getProperty("supports.recording") and
System.getProperty("supports.audio.capture")
both return false.
Also,
Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://audio");
creates a MediaException.
Is there an alternative way to record environmental sounds from inside a MIDlet? If not: is there hope that this functionality will be added in future firmware releases?
Thanks a lot in advance!
