Hi All, I'm hoping i may attract the attention of someone who's using netbeans or suns wireless toolkit 2.3 beta and is signing midlets to run on a nokia.

Problem I'm having is when I sign my midlet and install it, the installation never completes, just displays "Certificate error contact provider"

Anyone any thoughts/ideas

Dave

Did you buy a signature? In order for the signature to work it has to be a real one that you bought. The one's that you get from the Wireless toolkit is just made up, and when you trie to use it on the device, it sees that it isn't real and gives you that error.

Oh really ?

I was hoping it would prompt the user if they are sure that the certificate is real or not.. in the same way when i have used SSL certs for a website or an activex control in the past, the user is prompted if they trust the cert or not..

If you plan on mass deploying your midlet, then it makes senses to get a certificate which you can be sure will be trusted on as many devices as possible so either get a Verisign one (IMO too expensive) or Thawte which usually seem much more reasonably priced...
