Hi,

I am new to J2me
I have written an J2me application using CLDC1.1
and MIDP 2.0 it works well on emulator but
when i tried to run it on device(Nokia 3100 which uses CLDC1.0 and MIDP 1.0)
it displays an error "Invalid File"

Then i tried a sample example using CLDC1.0 and MIDP1.0
i encounterd same problem

can any body suggest me what the problem is?
answer my question as soon as possible

Welcome to JavaRanch!

When you install J2ME Wireless Toolkit, it comes with the simulator "KToolbar", use it to run your application.

It has some sample applicaitons aslo to learn from it.

Well you definitely can't run it on the Nokia 3100 because ti doesn't have the newer APIs that is in MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1

Even if you change your jad file to say it is MIDP 1.0 and CLDC 1.0, your code that is compiled is still 2.0 and 1.1 and has classes and code that only is in 2.0 and 1.1, so the device will know it and always give you that error.

Either rewrite you app to only use 1.0 and recompile with 1.0 or get a newer device that supports 2.0 and 1.1. Good Luck
