I wrote simple midlet which shows all available root devices on a List where user then choise which one to use. This works well with WTK emulator but not on the real device. Real device in question is Nokia 6230i.

Any ideas what might be wrong ?

Here is the code that does the job:

Hi Petri, unfortunately I can't give you a definitive answer. But one thing that you will find with real devices is that they don't seem to exactly implement the specification like it is written, and what works great in the WTK doesn't on the real device because of these inconsistencies.

The one strange thing is, that PDADemo, which comes with WTK package works fine on the phone in question. So there must be something wrong either in my code or the settings of the package I create. The PDADemo applicatio includes FileSystemTest, where user can select rootdevice and then browse files on directories ...

And the PDADemo lists the files that are on the device from the root?

Maybe your device has some kind of security that is stopping your code from doing this? Maybe I am completely wrong too.

Yes the PDADemo works as expected and you can browse the files after you say yes to the request which asks the permission. What kind of security settings I should seek? I tried to setup all the permissions exactly the same way in my midlet as it is in PDADemo midlet but it didn't help either.

hi,
To list the files in the real device, need to change filePath applicable to the real device
FilePath for nokia6230i is file:///c:/predefgallery/predefphotos
