Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I have an application to write , in my application i need to search in a file that contain some sorted key/values (all item are sorted base on their key wich itself is an String) , when user enter its data i should search the file and locate the desiered record , what is best practive to implement this kind of search ?

my files are plain text and key/values are seperate via , .

should i put them in seperate files ?

is it wise to store a hash of Keys and then hash user input to search faster ?

all your suggestions are welcome

Thanks
