Hi all,

Is it possible to access the phone numbers stored in a mobile phone and store them in a variable?

Many thanks

Adrian

We have a forum specifically for J2ME. You might get a better response there. Moving...

Hi,
It is not possible to directly access the phonebook, the JTWI states that for a TextField with the constant phonenumber should be provided with the address book, but if my memory is correct, this is not guarenteed. Hope this information helps you to think an alternative solution. Regards.

You can directly access PIM data by using JSR75. Of course your device must support the API. There are plenty of examples for accessing the data stored in the phone book.

Please review the examples on java.sun.com. There is a wealth of informaion on this topic. Also consider the examples on sonyericsson's site.

http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/techsupport/tipstrickscode/java/p_jsr75_accessing_pim_file_pim_api.jsp

Many devices support JSR 75, including many of the nokia devices.
